ESEA and Teamsters Local 14 are Joining Forces!

Starting this summer, ESEA and the Teamsters will jointly represent Clark Co. School District ESPs (Education Support Professionals). Scroll down to see how the groundbreaking agreement will impact you.

Two Units, One Goal

In order to provide ESPs with the best, most effective representation possible, members of both unions will be assigned to one of two administrative Units, based on your job type.

Your Unit determines who will represent you when it comes to bargaining, grievances and disciplinary matters.

You're in Unit 1

According to the terms of the agreement, as of July 31, 2020:

  • ESEA will continue to be your bargaining agent.
  • ESEA will continue to handle any disciplinary matters or grievances.
  • Per a no-raid agreement, you may not sign up to join Teamster Local 14.

According to the terms of the agreement, as of July 31, 2020:

  • ESEA will continue to be your bargaining agent.
  • ESEA will begin handling any disciplinary matters or grievances.
  • You may join ESEA at nea.org or by filling out an application at http://www.esea-nv.org/join-now/.

According to the terms of the agreement, as of July 31, 2020:

  • ESEA will be your bargaining agent.
  • ESEA will handle any disciplinary matters or grievances.
  • You may join ESEA at nea.org or by filling out an application at http://www.esea-nv.org/join-now/.
  • Per a no-raid agreement, you may not sign up to join the Teamsters.

  • For now, ESEA will continue to be your bargaining agent. (ESEA and the Teamsters have agreed to an orderly process to split the bargaining unit in the future.)
  • The Teamsters will continue handling any disciplinary matters or grievances.
  • Per a no-raid agreement, you may not sign up to join ESEA.

According to the terms of the agreement, as of July 31, 2020:

  • For now, ESEA will continue to be your bargaining agent. (ESEA and the Teamsters have agreed to an orderly process to split the bargaining unit in the future.)
  • Any disciplinary matters and grievances will be handled by the Teamsters.
  • You may join Teamsters Local 14 by contacting Teamsters Local 14 at www.teamsters14.com. Alternatively, you may transfer your ESEA membership to Teamsters Local 14 by signing a Teamsters Local 14 Membership Form and agreeing to pay the required dues to Teamsters Local 14. If you transfer your membership, your obligation to pay ESEA dues will cease.
  • You also may remain a member of ESEA. If you do, you will continue to receive all benefits of membership, including the right to vote and hold NEA, NSEA and ESEA office.

More About Our Agreement

For years, ESEA and Teamsters Local 14 have battled over bargaining unit status in Clark County. By coming together, we increase the power of ESPs throughout Clark County School District.

Once ESEA and Teamsters Local 14 have each reached majority membership in Unit 1 and Unit 2, respectively, we will approach the School District and/or the Government Employee-Management Relations Board (EMRB) to separate the bargaining units, promising to work together to maintain our no-raid and mutual defense agreement.
